Has Your License Expired?
We are approaching the time of year when fishing licenses are expiring and you need to renew them. This is also a time of year when some popular game fish like walleyes, become out-of-season.
If you keep your fishing license in your wallet (I always do, you never know when you’ll need it!), pull it out and take a look at it. I’m looking at mine right now and it expires April 30, 2012.
I know I’m covered to go fishing for the next two months, but with fishing licenses going on sale soon, I will probably renew when it’s convenient. One thing I can’t stand, is sitting at a busy counter, the friday before opener, waiting in line for someone who doesn’t know how to print out licenses. It seems like it happens every year. So I will make sure to get my license in the middle of the week sometime.
As I mentioned above, fishing seasons often change this time of year for certain species. Gamefish can become illegal to fish for and if you don’t pay attention to your local regulations, you could have to pay some hefty fines and lose fishing privelages. It’s easy to get on a state’s dnr or wildlife site and find that information out. They often have the regulations online and/or a chart with dates of species’ seasons. Do yourself the simple favor and check out your local area right now.
After this weekend, I will be sticking to panfish. My local regs limit the species I can go after and it’s a good time to get some action fishing in before the ice starts melting and fishing is limited due to conditions.
That’s all I got for now. Post as much as he’d like. I needyour fishing pics in the forums and let me know how it’s going out there. Two small children are keeping this guy from hitting the water the readers to share their fun!
Good luck fish’n
