Look Out for Bad Ice
The midwest is in the beggining of a week long warm spell. The ice conditions will be suffering because of it. As much as we all love to get out there and go fishing, you really need to take extra precautions to make sure of your safety. This isn’t like first ice when temperatures are consistently cold. Now you have to deal with uneven thicknesses of ice that may be rotted out from the warm temperatures. So keep in mind some safety tips and bring some safety gear when going out there. Going alone isn’t a good idea either, so bring a friend or family member.
I recommend the following tools for thin/bad ice situations.
